I had such an amazing experience at Real Fire Places. They had a great selection of fireplaces and the staff was super knowledgeable on picking the correct sized fireplace for my living space. I walked in with zero knowledge on fireplaces and walked out educated enough I knew what I was spending my money on. My fire place was installed beautifully and will def go back for future needs..

Although Dave was communicative via email, showed up on time, seemed pleasant.FYI He will not wear a mask for medical reasons.This was a problem for me. Lost my business.I get people have strong beliefs yet don't you have to make a living?Save that for your off time if you must.

We are new to Chatham and had our A/C serviced for the first time with Postma. The service technician, Andrew, was great. He was polite and very informative. Once he opened the unit up it was apparent that it had not been serviced in a few years. We will be using Postma again.

I called them to check a funny smoke smell at my house. They came fast and checked everything and gave me good advise on taking care of my fireplace.

Our furnace stopped working yesterday and we called city energy heating & Air conditioning the send technician Don come on time and find the issue very quickly and repair was done same day. Price was amazing.We highly recommend city energy.Thanks again.

Bryson and Dave were very professional, took care about the environment (protected inside with drop sheets and carpet care), before proceeding with the ac set up. Altered the overall structure of the unit for better operation and performance. (Leveled ground, made a base unit for the ac to sit ontop). Very kind, friendly and responsible. I would highly recommend this company.

This store is the most frustrating business to deal with. Once you have bought the product it is nearly impossible to get good quality service for parts needed. My own experience has really tested my patience in getting someone to call me back after leaving several messages and then actually driving to the store to find out why and if the part I ordered was even ordered and it wasn’t but assured it would be and in the following week, so far nothing and no phone call to advise on the status. When I got to the store there was paperwork everywhere and having to give all the information again certainly not giving me a good feeling. Al who works there seems to be the only one who knows anything at all and the others are very disorganized Good luck to anyone who buys from this establishment!

Definitely NO STARS for this company due to the lack of respect and rudeness that I received from a manager by the name of Sean. This is not acceptable behavior when dealing with the public and I do not want anyone else to experience this. I also do not have much faith in the validity of their chimney cleaning service when the inspection done at the time of cleaning is not valid or taken into consideration.I have had Top Hat several times over the years for maintenance of our wood burning fireplace with no issues until it was cleaned this past Nov 2022.In 2006 we had the Damper replaced as it was rusted open. On the work order it was noted that the smoke rise box was also rusted. Nothing was mentioned to us at the time about the cause of the rust and how to prevent it.In 2018 we had the chimney capped upon recommendation of a roofing company to help with moisture from getting in the chimney.In 2021 we had the chimney cleaned by a technician by the name of Justin. On the work order he did not mention that the smoke box had rust. In fact he put a check mark on this item indicating that it was ok. Hand written on this work order was “Cleaned and inspected, Fireplace and Chimney. OK at this time.”Nov 2022 we had the chimney cleaned again. It took the technicians (Darian and Jay) 5 minutes to condemn my fireplace as not useable. Written on the work order was “Fireplace can not be used (not safe). The smoke shelf is gone.”So does the smoke shelf that had rust in 2006, and no rust in 2021, all of sudden is rusted out 2022 to the point where it is totally gone?So Dec 19 2022, I phoned to talk with a manager (Sean). He basically said that a cleaning is not an inspection but that “it is a complimentary inspection done with the cleaning that is not part of the cleaning”. He said that he would talk to the technicians from the last two cleanings and get back to me. He never did.Jan 26 2023, I phoned Sean and asked if he talked to the workmen as promised. He did not answer whether he talked to them. But here is our conversation:Sean said that “It (cleaning) is a complimentary inspection with the cleaning and is not really part of the cleaning”Me: “But should they have noticed the smoke shelf rusted out?”Sean: “No”Me: “They should have because it could not have rusted out totally in a year”Sean: “I will have last year’s guy call you”Me: “What is that going to do?”Sean: “What is it you want?”Me: “I want compensation for what I paid on that and this year’s cleaning”HE HUNG UP ON MEI was stunned that a manager would do that. I tried calling him back. No one was answering the phone and the prompts on their voice mail had changed so I could not reach administration. I called back again and Sean answered the phone:Me: “did you just hang up on me?”Sean: “Yes I did.”Me: “Why?”Sean: “I am busy”Me: “I am busy too”Sean: “Obviously you are not”Me: “I could go to the media about this”Sean: “oooooooooooo” ( sarcastically being scared). “Obviously you are done with us”Me: “You are a manager but you don’t have the skills of a manager”. (I hung up)My advice: never get a cleaning or maintenance of your fireplace with Top Hat!
